About Us
We are a Pacific seafarer recruitment and placement service, established in 1992. We arrange men and women seafarers to work as crewmembers of international commercial ships. We recruit in Fiji, Kiribati, Tuvalu and other Pacific nations.
We operate from Lautoka, in the beautiful Fiji Islands, under the daily direction of Mr Saoloto Sosene, General Manager, who has long experience in crew management, airline operations and logistics. Mrs Deborah Sosene is our Administrative Manager, assisted by three staff members. Capt John Hensford, our Managing Director, is stationed in Australia.
We operate a private guesthouse in Lautoka, accommodating seafarers transiting Fiji from other Pacific islands to join ship or return home. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have contracted a hotel in Lautoka providing guarded quarantine isolation for seafarers prior to joining ships. Seafarers returning to Fiji after completing their contracts are accommodated at government-controlled quarantine hotels until their quarantine isolation has been completed. We also have a private guesthouse in Suva, accommodating deck and engine cadets training at Fiji Maritime Academy.
The Fiji, Tuvalu and Kiribati Governments have licensed Alpha Pacific Navigation Pte Ltd to recruit their nationals, in compliance with the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 and other industry standards. We are a member of the Fiji Commerce and Employers’ Federation.
